Capital Campaign
Rendering above: Future Tarleton Alumni Center
The future home for Tarleton alumni will be your destination for reunions, receptions, parties and seminars...or a walk down memory lane with a cup of coffee and a stack of Grassburr yearbooks. Located on McIlhaney Street, across from the women’s residence halls, the complex will include the Alumni House, Campus Corner, and Meeting Hall. The Alumni House was built in 1915 for James Franklin Cox, president of John Tarleton College, and purchased in 1920 by R.L. and Corinne Thompson. The house will now become the permanent offices of the Tarleton Alumni Association and a long needed gathering place for Tarleton alumni. The nostalgic Campus Corner, after renovations, will host community and corporate meetings, including those of the alumni board, and dinners for special occasions. In addition to a decor rich with memorabilia, the Campus Corner will once again have a working soda fountain. The Meeting Hall, inspired by the Old College Hall, will host banquets and private parties. A courtyard area, as well as meeting rooms, will be located on the perimeter of the ground floor.Private gifts will pay for the future Tarleton Alumni Complex through the $2.0 million Coming Home Campaign. Naming opportunities and monthly draft plans are available. Please support our future home, which will serve alumni of today and generations to come.
